How do I add narration audio to a page?

You can add narration to a page by recording it directly from your computer microphone or uploading a pre-recorded audio file.

To add narration to a page:

  1. Click the Narration button in the Course area of the Record tab Ribbon Toolbar.
  2. The Adobe Flash Player Settings “Camera and Microphone Access” dialog box appears. You need to allow the Claro website access to your microphone before you can record audio. Click the Allow button.
  3. Select the page you want to narrate from the list on the left side.
  4. The Page Transcript text appears in the main area so that you can read it for narration.
  5. Click the Settings button to change your microphone/audio settings
  6. To record your own audio narration using your built-in computer microphone or other installed microphone, click the round Record button in the Record tab panel. Click the square Stop button when you’re done.
  7. Click the Play button to listen to your recording. If you need to trim some dead air from the beginning or end of the audio, use the red flags. Drag a flag from the end marker to the location you want to clip to. Play the recording again to ensure you hear the whole audio clip. Then, click Apply.
  8. Give your audio a description and tags.
  9. Click the Save button.
  10. You can then click another page to record audio for that page. Click Done when you’re finished.
  11. The audio asset displays on the page in the upper left corner.

NOTE:  Once you add narration to a page, you cannot record more narration for that page. The Record button is disabled if there is already audio narration on the page. If you want to replace the narration, delete the audio asset from the page and then record a new narration clip.

Audio narration defaults to Auto Play in an online course. You can remove the Auto Play setting if you want by double-clicking the clip and clicking the Autoplay button on the Audio Settings tab. For more information, see Set audio to Auto Play and Designing mobile courses with audio narration.
